HVAC Control Tech Jobs description
An HVAC control tech responds to HVAC systems control logic diagrams, wiring schematics and written instructions, installs, alters, maintains, and repairs pneumatic control systems and components and electrical/electronic control systems; calibrates all environment temperature, pressure, and humidity controls; diagnoses and introduces custom control actions through application software; as part of the preventive maintenance program checks, adjusts, and recalibrates all environmental controls. An HVAC control tech is responsible for start-up, checkout, troubleshooting and a final critical adjustment and calibration on automation systems. An HVAC control tech renovates and upgrades HVAC systems and control systems to accommodate new technology and/or energy conservation; examines existing systems and makes recommendations for renovation; plans and coordinates activities during system shutdown.An HVAC control tech job requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school (two year program) in heating and air-conditioning with minimum two/three years’ experience installing, altering, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining HVAC control systems. An HVAC control tech should have knowledge of designing, installing, repairing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting direct digital control HVAC systems. An HVAC control tech should be willing to work in an environment containing dust, grime, odor, fumes, temperature extremes, and high levels of noise.
