Global Managment Services, LLC (GMS) is seeking a full-time HVAC Technician at Eielson AFB to Perform maintenance work on heating, ventilation, cooling, and refrigeration systems that control the air quality in many types of buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, diagnosis, service and repair commercial and residential multi-zone heating and cooling systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnosis, service and repair commercial and residential multi-zone cooling systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnosis, service and repair commercial refrigeration systems
Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
Join pipes or tubing to equipment and to fuel, water, or refrigerant source, to form complete circuit.
Reassemble and test equipment following repairs.
Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment, according to wiring diagrams, using electrician's hand tools.
Obtain and maintain required certifications.
Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats and timers, using hand tools.
Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
Inspect and test systems to verify system compliance with plans and specifications or to detect and locate malfunctions

Job Requirements :
Required:
Must be available during working hours and within one hour after regular working hours.
Provide proven work experience troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems.
Must have experience in HVAC, air handling, deionizer water, chilled water, condenser, hot water, compressed air, electronic gate systems, and boilers.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have current Alaska driver’s license.
Five (5) years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Required:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.
Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
Preferred:
Freon license highly recommended.
Air handling and refrigeration experience recommended.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The work described herein is primarily active, performed in a maintenance shop setting. Walking and climbing will be required at work sites. The work environment involves risks or discomforts that require specific safety precautions typical of such places as residential and commercial buildings. This position requires driving and working out of doors in extreme heat/cold and possibly rainy weather.
