**Job Summary**

AECOM is seeking a high level HVAC Maintenance Technician 4 for our pharmaceutical facility maintenance team in South San Francisco, CA!

Typical work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm; hours may vary based on critical business demand.

This position is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing **preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment** and systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing / research and development environment.

Must have the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot **ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration,** etc. in a highly regulated environment.

Strong mechanical skills are required, as well as the ability to work safely with 3-phase power up to and including 480V.

Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication and a solid understanding of **large building HVAC systems and their mechanical/electrical controls** .

Knowledge of **building automation system software** supporting HVAC, water, steam, and power distribution (such as **Honeywell and Siemens** ) is preferred!

The HVAC Maintenance Technician 4 must have the ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues and perform independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required.

Essential Functions:

Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial facility mechanical systems; facility HVAC equipment and systems; pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems;

Conducts preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventive maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.

Troubleshoots and repairs blowers and fans.

Troubleshoots and repairs heat exchange equipment.

Performs basic pipefitting repairs.

Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.

Assists in the movement of machines/fixtures, materials, and equipment as required.

Performs preventive maintenance on mechanical systems control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.

Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems

Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.

Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.

Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.

Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.

Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Minimum Requirements:**

1. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

2. Five years of experience as an **HVAC maintenance technician in a pharmaceutical, medical, laboratory or related industrial grade environment** , or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

3. EPA Universal certification.

1. Qualified applicants offered a position must be able to obtain site specific security access including all applicable background checks.

2. Qualified applicants must pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for each type of respirator needed for the position or for an approved alternate respirator that provides equal or better protection from identified hazards.

**Additional Information:**

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

**Physical Requirements:**

Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

**Special Requirements:**

Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained

**Preferred Qualifications**

**Preferred Qualifications:**

1. **Associate’s degree in HVAC, industrial mechanical, industrial electrical, or a related skilled trade.**

2. Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, supply and exhaust fans, power transmission components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.

3. Experience performing pipefitting, welding, fabrication, and millwright related work.

4. Experience programming, troubleshooting and/or repairing **HVAC with building automation systems** (especially **Honeywell/Siemens** ) in an industrial or research facility environment.

5. Certified in B.A.S. or Energy Management systems.

6. Experience in software programming, particularly in graphics and sequence of operations.

**Other Attributes:**

Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
