Description Akima Intra-Data provides support services to the federal and civilian agencies of the U.S Government as well as commercial organizations. Our core competencies include training and training system development, data and records management, information technology, administrative support, facilities operations and management, and base operations support services. Summary This individual is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and replacement of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment and systems. This includes, but is not limited to, the handling of all fuels, lubricating oils, refrigerants, chemicals, auxiliary machinery, and boiler water treatment; attending all boiler fires to maintain steam pressure as required; and controlling the operation of chillers and cooling towers. The incumbent will be responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing, and replacing all air distribution systems and components (e.g. air handling units, exhaust fans, variable frequency drives, VAV boxes, and fan coil units), evaporative cooling equipment, vacuum systems, chilled water pumps, chemical feed systems, steam traps, and hot water pumps on Fort Benning and supported satellite locations. Qualifications Skills and Qualifications Must have knowledge of all trade procedures used in the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems and equipment. Must have knowledge of chemicals and equipment used in HVAC operations and maintenance activities. Must have knowledge of principles of stock control. Must have knowledge of principles and practices of supervision and training. Must have competence in NEC, NFPA, EPA regulations, as well as ASHRAE, ANSI and codes applicable to the HVAC trades. Must have knowledge of safety measures associated with the HVAC systems operations. Must have knowledge of pneumatic and digital control systems Must be skilled in the utilization of remote energy management systems and software. Must be skilled\u00a0in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs. Must have the ability to effectively evaluate and manage heavy workload to maintain compliance while gaining efficiencies in operations Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and customer representatives. Must have the ability to read blueprints, schematics and construction diagrams\/designs. Qualifications Must have an Associate's degree or two-year technical certificate. Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC and boiler systems operations and maintenance Must have a minimum of\u00a05 year of supervisory experience.
