HVAC Refrigeration Jobs
An HVAC refrigeration job involves installing, maintaining, repairing, and overhauling residential central air conditioning systems, commercial, and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems. An HVAC refrigeration candidate assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools. An HVAC refrigeration person performs emergency, preventive, and scheduled maintenance and repair work on various items of refrigeration equipment, such as reach-in and walk-in freezers and refrigerators, household freezers and refrigerators, milk and water coolers, milkshake machines, ice making machines, and air dryers in boiler rooms; locate malfunctions by observation and testing; repair, replace, and/or adjust contractors, relays, thermostats, holding coils, temperature and pressure controls, compressors, condensers, motors, fans, defrosters, door heaters, lighting, etc. An HVAC refrigeration candidate performs the skilled journey-level work required to maintain, install, troubleshoot, modify, and repair refrigeration equipment and machines; and performs related duties as required or assigned.
An HVAC refrigeration job requires a high school diploma, and college or industry courses in refrigeration and air conditioning. An HVAC refrigeration professional should have the ability to read and interpret instructions, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers\\\' manuals; capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when repair is not economically practical, and to perform routine tasks and arithmetic computations; and knowledge of basic computer skills. An HVAC refrigeration candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills dealing with co-workers and customers, good work ethics, writing skills, organizational skills, and ability to handle pressure.
